The mission of the Teens As Parents program is to help pregnant and parenting teens in Harnett County obtain prenatal health care, learn parenting skills, and continue in school.

Services provided:

• Weekly In-Home Visitation
• Monthly Support Group Meetings
• Access to other programs in Harnett County

What is Prenatal Care?

Prenatal care is the care a woman receives when she is pregnant. It can be provided by a doctor, midwife, or other health care professional. Women are encouraged to receive prenatal care to monitor the progress of a pregnancy and identify any potential problems that could become serious for mom or baby.

Benefits of Prenatal Care

By visiting with a health care provider regularly during pregnancy, women are:

• More likely to have healthier babies.
• Less likely to deliver prematurely.
• Less likely to have other serious complications related to pregnancy.
